Watersedge Park FC 1 v 0 Affinion International

Losers!

3 points lost? 1 point lost? Most definitly.

With another meeting between these clubs, saw the match ruined by an act of no fair play and maybe "cheating" not by the players but from one man the "referee". (Just like to add NOT a qualified ref)

With Affinion playing some good football on a horrible and wet sunday morning, Affinion created some good chances and had the possession but once again failed to take there chances.

Watersedge being the home team had to provide a referee, so with none available they opted for there biased Manager to take the helm. Good sport for doing it, or maybe NOT. No one likes to Referee a sunday League game with all the abuse being issued. Also a lack of prepaation on the home team, with no flags for the linesman and NOT even a match ball!!!!!

In the first half, the referee blew for a penalty, what for we dont know, apparently a hand ball, even though the Affinion player was inches away from the opposition player who blasted the ball straight at him. "How can he move put of the way of that".

But a penalty the referee gave, up stepped the Watersedge striker who struck the ball, which sent the keeper the wrong way but hit the post and was cleard by the rushing in Affinion defence. Justice? Maybe a little.

The second half bought more contreversy with Watersedge being on the other hand this time, with Affinion shooting and the ball striking the Watersedge players arm. "Free kick outside the box? NO Play on says the referee looking down at his watch"!

Few minutes later a high and late challenge coming into Luke Emery who jumped out of the way. "Free Kick surely. Turned to the referee down the other end of the pitch, looking at his watch. Play on. Oh my God what is going on.

Play continues with chances being squandered. The Watersedge players getting frustrated with each other, with the way they are playing.

Two minutes to go, Watersdge with a long ball into the box, a group of players bunched tightly together like sardines in a can, and all of a sudden the referee's blown his whistle, everyone on the pitch looking at him and he points to the spot. Affinion and the majority of Watersedge players are gob smacked. "Whats that for" handball he says.

Shocker, this time they score, and the ref blows for full time. Surely thats NOT allowed what a way to end a game. Hand shakes after the game with some embarrassed Watersedge players apologising for what just happened. Affinion a little annoyed but not defeated and will be back next week, Vs Cosham blues who triumphed earlier on in the season 4-1.

Affinion International 2 v 3 1664 FC

Losers!

3 Points dropped by Affinion, with the match and game looking under control, Affinion blew there chance for a second League Victory of the season by not finishing there chances.

With a good first half with Mark Harris giving Affinion the lead with a cracking goal then nearly making it 2-0 minutes over with a superb volley just whistling wide, 1664 equalised just before the break with a deflected shot off the foot of Centre Back Andrew.

So half time and 1-1, the Affinion players coming off at half time with headsdown, even though they dominated the 1st half, and the score was level. Same every week Affinion drop there heads when conceding a goal.

Second half got off to a good start with more chances being created, but still failing to finish them, then up pops Brad Jones turning on the spot and finishing well to make it 2-1.

This lifted the team and Affinion pushed on looking to add to the tally. A Free kick just outside the area, was perfect and Brad Jones ran onto it to finish 3-1 so we thought, the 1664 linesman put his flag up, and the Affinion players and the referee could not believe it, but the ref went with the linesman and disallowed the goal for offside, as the linesman had the better view?????????

Minutes later a cross from 1664 across the face of goal, and the Affinion player got his legs tangled up and finished superbly but into the wrong net, 2-2.

Mintues to go and Affinion could still not finish the game off, and after a goal mouth scramble, 1664 won the game, by defensive mistakes by Affinion gifted them the goal and the 3points today.

A good game, but Affinion annoyed they failed to win a gamed they really should of. Credit to 1664 who have beat Affinion twice this season in the League 7-4 and 3-2, and look forward to playing them again next season.

Next game with old foes Watersedge Park in the second League fixture this season between the two. The 5th time the teams have met with Watersedge winning three, and a draw. Will it be more of the same this sunday or will Affinion finally turn things around and beat Watersedge Park.

Watersedge Park FC 5 v 1 Affinion International

Losers!

The second meeting this season between these two sides, and another victory for Watersedge, running out 5-1 winners.

The teams meet again in couple of weeks for the league fixture, and Affinion will be hoping for a better performance against a team we believe we can beat.

Oliver Dale scored his 1st goal of the season for Affinion, after a through ball by Luke that Full back Sean Jones ran onto and pulled back across the face of goal for Oliver to tap in for the visitors.

With only 11 players turning up, Affinion struggled, with no linesman or subs it was always going to be difficult, and this did not help when the official referee did not show, and the opposition had to use one of their own staff.

Watersedge finished there chances very well, and could of easily been more if it was not for a spectacular display in goal by Toby Cartledge in the second half, after he went in goal after picking up a knock, and Craig Roberts coming out onto pitch.

Next game for Affinion is 1664 FC in the league, who triumphed over Affinion earlier on in the season 7-4, a team we can beat and if the players turn up, should see us pick up our second win of the season.
