Originally known as Repps Utd a change of sponsors meant a change of name and we became Albert Tavern F.C. for the 2005 - 2006 season. In our 1st season after a slow start we finished a respectable 3rd in the league (which due to a league restructor meant promotion to the 2nd Div) and enjoyed a visit to the Wembley of the Sunday League Wellesley Park for the final of the Sunday Lge K.O. Plate. We lost 2 - 0 to a good Rollesby side. But to the lads credit we were a 3rd div team playing a 1st div team and did ourselves proud as we beat opponents from both the 2nd & 1st to get there.
This season we were initially looking to consolidate our position but if we can continue our good start to the season we may even gain another promotion to the lofty heights of Div 1. Unfortunately we are out of the Norfolk Cup due to a close defeat to a good Wymondham Rangers (3-4) but are looking to try and reach another final this season in the local cups.
