Another game on our travels the miles are adding up rightly, we travelled to Gordon playing fields Glenavon and this was to be a very good match by both team.
The first half was very even with both sides creating chances but it would be Glenavon who would find the breakthrough first with 2 minutes to half time with a break down the right which we failed to stop seen them get their first goal to go 1 : 0 up and right on the stroke of half time we found ourselves 2 : 0 down with Glenavon scoring a good goal from a corner which was headed in powerfully by their number 8. Half Time 2 : 0 to Glenavon.
With two changes at half time, Jack Patterson on for Brandon Mcferran at right back and Alex Majury on up front with Louis Cafolla coming off at left back and Reece Atkinson going into left back and Alex would make a big impact in the game 15 minutes into the second half Matthew Guest put a great ball through to Alex Majury who had a shot which the keeper saved but then knocked the ball into his own net to make it 2 : 1 but exactly a minute later we found ourselves two goals behind again as we didn't switch on right away and Glenavon scored to make it 3 : 1. The boys kept their heads up and kept probing and with 10 minutes to go we got back in the match with an exellent long range strike from Alex Majury, Matthew Guest again play a long high ball up to Alex who hit it first time on the half volley and it sail into the top right hand corner of the net. The last 10 minutes was all Ards as we searched for the equaliser and with a minute to go we though we had it only for Stuart Graham's shot to go just past the post.
I must thank the boys for a gritty performance and considering Glenavon beat us 7 : 0 in Ards at the beginning of the season there's no dought that the boys have improved and Frazer Carnduff and Jai Sykes where excellent in central Defence.
