19th July 2008 - The Begining

Boythorpe has had quite a chequred history. Started life as The Trumpeters on the Grangewood Estate in Chesterfield and had some success before most of the team broke away to form Derbyshire Times Res. It was then a few years before two founder members joined together a group of mates to form Angel Athletic. The team play in the Chesterfield Sunday League Division 8, and have changed names, and bases a couple more times before we find ourselves at this point(just starting the 3rd year in the league)as Boythorpe F.C. playing at a new venue Langer Lane pitch 2. And have just aquired a very good shirt sponsor in the shape of THE NEW DIVAN MAN who is based in Chesterfield and Staveley. All looks well for the new season with some exciting new players and a desire to make an impact at League and Cup level having just found out that the League has been reduced to 8 divisions.

15-07-2007 - Bolsover Football Festival 2007 Trophy Winners.

Group 2 beat Midway Res 2-0 (pollard 5, yeomans 25) lost 0-2 Bolsover Old Boys. lost 0-5 Angel Hotel (bolsover) finished 3rd in group qulified for Festival Trophy, Semi Final Versus Bolsover Old Boys res drew 0-0, (won 5-4 on pens)(hardy, turner, cartwright.m, hollindale, wright). Final drew 1-1 against AFC Angel (wright 3)(won 5-4 on pens) same scorers, same order.

Head West out of Chesterfield Town Centre along Wheatbridge Road towards Chatsworth Road. Keep Along Chatsworth Road straight on at Morrisons roundabout keep going past Blakes garage and on beyond traffic lights at Chatsworth Road / Storrs Road junction. Take LEFT HAND turn directly opposite Brookside School (somersall lane) and travel down a couple of hundred yards to changing room car park on left just after river hipper bridge.
