Chippenham West End FC 1 v 0 Corsham Park Rangers

  The West End came into this match after a below par performance against rivals Audley Spartans, who only had 10 men.  After a rocket from Manager Leighton Joyce the team knew they had to perform against Corsham Park Rangers, where there was a score to settle against some former players.  Our home pitch looked more like something pigs would roll about in, and joel had a great time brushing water out of the goalmouth with a broom.  The ref wanted to go home because he got wet, but after a little wait we got started

  The match started very evenly and competitivly, with both teams struggling with the condidtions a little bit.  But it was the West end who struck first with 10 minutes on the board.  A good team move which started on the wing from jenkins, played it into mannings who then passed to Mellor, who in turn cooly slotted it into the corner, with the goalie stuck in the mud. 

  The score remained the same, but the West end had to endure a seige of attacks from Corsham in the second half.  Doyle commanded his area well and claimed the ball superbly.  The defence were like a rock, with the midfield and attack working hard in front of them.  The lads did the manager proud!

HAVING suffered their first defeat in nine games when they were beaten 5-1 by leaders Witham Friary last weekend, Martin Perrett’s Corsham Park Rangers were confident of returning to winning ways when they traveled to Chippenham West End on Sunday.

But the West End produced another shock result by taking maximum points courtesy of a 1-0 victory.

Phil Mellor scored West End’s winner on 10 minutes when he fired home a free kick low to the right hand side of Rangers despairing keeper. "

Chippenham West End FC 1 v 2 Somerford

Second half goals from Scott Hatton and Jamie Farquharson earned Somerford a 2-1 victory after Phil Mellor had given Chippenham West End a 1-0 half time lead.

Mellor got himself on the end of a Tristan Roberts cross to give his side the lead on 35 minutes, but goals from Hatton who tapped home from a yard out after keeper Darren Newman saved the inital shot and Farquharson who got on the end of a Hatton cross earned Somerford their third win in five games.

Westend were at the bare 11 after certain players got smashed the night before and txt in the morning saving cant play!!

CORSHAM PARK RANGERS 1 v 1 Chippenham West End FC

Corsham Park Rangers and Chippenham West End fought out a 1-1 draw in the driving rain at Leafy Lane.  After a goalless first 45 minutes Joel Lander broke the deadlock when he volleyed home a Steve Coleman cross on 55 minutes.

Corsham Park welcomed back substitute James Parsons who had been missing since early September after breaking his wrist against FC Boroughs and Parsons return seemed to breath new life into his team mates and with 10 minutes remaining they scored an equaliser.

West End’s keeper Darren Newman upended Jake Marshall for what he thought should have been a free kick but the referee pointed to the penalty spot and Simon Young didn’t need a second invitation as he stepped up slot the ball home for a controversial but deserved equaliser.
