New Season

A new season starts for the first's on 29th Aug and the res's on the 5th Sept. Pre season has gone well, playing a total of six friendlies, with newly appointed managers Paul (firsts) and Scuffer (res's) having a large pool of talented palyers to select from. The firsts start with an away game against Westfields res's while the res's go to Eywas Harold.

Fownhope Football Club First Team 0 v 5 Bromyard Town

A poor performane by Fownhope led to a convincing win for Bromyard. Fownhope started brightly and around the twenty minute mark, with the score still 0 - 0 were denied a certain penalty. From then on it was all down hill for Fownhope who struggled to deal with the pace of the Bromyard attack scoring four goals before the break. They added one more to their total after the break but Fownhope rarely troubled the Bromyard defence.

Ross Town 3 v 2 Fownhope Football Club First Team

a good all round performance let down by three denfensive marking errors from set plays.

There was little to chose between the sides in the first twenty minutes. Then from a Ross corner slack marking allowed a goal froma near post header. Fownhope responded almost immediatley when a driven freekick from Jon Richards was tunrned in to the net off the head of Martin Christenson. Again Fownhope's good work was undone just before half time when a well flighted Ross free kick resulted in a goal from naive Fownhope defending.  Fownhope started the second half the better side and in the seventieth minute were rewarded with an equaliser when a floated cross from Richie Endacott was met by Tony Richards who guided  a looping header beyond the Ross keeper. The game appeared to be heading for a draw when in the eighty seventh minute Ross were awarded a corner from which they scored with a thumping header.
