Tommy Turners 3 v 2 Stambermill Stones FC

Typical end of season match with nothing to play for for either team. It was end to end football with Tommy Turners showing why they won the league. Well thats it for this season lets have a break and get ready for next season

Stambermill Stones FC 3 v 3 Netherton Liberal Reserves

Evening Kick off Weather very changable pitch damp but playable.

This was definatly the match in 2 halfs. The first half was Stambermill Stones, the second was Netherton Liberal Reserves with both teams scoring 3 times.

Stambermill got off to a flyer with the first of his 30 minute hatrick on 3 minutes David DJ Smith scored. Stambermill kept up the presure and on 13 minutes DJ scored his second. Stambermill Stones were inspired by a Captains performance from David Chuddy Chambers ruling the mid feild. The best of his 3 goals came on the half hour when a ball was controlled and inch perfectly passed by Scott Harris into the path of DJ who controlled it ran forwards the unleased a screamer that went into the top right hand corner of the net. Stambermill went in 3 - 0 up at half time and full of spirit.

The second half started as the first with Stambermill ruling and they could easily have been 4 or 5 up before Netherton scored, DJ hit the post and a header from Daniel Buddy Budwoth hit the bar. As the half went on the fitness started to tell with several Stambermill Players carrying pulls Netherton came back into the game scoring on 70, 77 and a penalty in the last five minutes bought the scores level.

Next and final match is against Tommy Turners (League Champions elect) on Sunday 10th may 2009 at Wordsley Park P2 kick off 10.30

Stambermill Stones FC 0 v 1 Netherton Sports

A very well played game from both sides. Neither team got on top and it was a good game to watch. A dubious penalty was the only score of the game.

Next match has yet to be released.
