History
The club was founded in 1895 and originally played in the Oxfordshire Senior League. They joined the Hellenic League in 1978 and have won the league title twice, in 1985–86 and 2008–09.
Abingdon Town have also reached the final of the FA Vase on two occasions, in 1986 and 2009.

The Uhlsport Hellenic League is an English men's football league covering an area including the English counties of Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, southern Herefordshire, southern Warwickshire, northern Wiltshire and southern Berkshire.
The league is currently at the ninth level of the English football league system. It is divided into three divisions: Division One, Division Two and Division Three.
The champions of Division One are promoted to the Southern League Division One South or Central, while the bottom two teams are relegated to Division Two. The champions of Division Two are promoted to Division One, while the bottom two teams are relegated to Division Three.
The Uhlsport Hellenic League was founded in 1894 and is the oldest football league in Oxfordshire.
