History
Carleton Athletic Football Club was founded in 1972 by a group of local residents. The club's first season was in the Blackpool & Fylde Sunday League Division Two. They finished the season in second place, which was enough to earn promotion to Division One.
The club won their first league title in 1977, and they repeated this success in 1988. They also won the league cup in 1978.
The club's most recent league title came in 2019. They also won the league cup in 2007.
