The team was founded in 1965 by a group of former pupils of Edge Hill Boys' School. They initially played in local amateur leagues, but they were promoted to the Liverpool Premier League in 2005.
The team has won the Liverpool Premier League Second Division title once, in 2010. They have also reached the final of the Liverpool Premier League Cup on two occasions, in 2011 and 2012.
