The Lichfield City U9 Foxes are a football team based in Lichfield, Staffordshire. They play in the Burton Junior Football League (BJFL) in the U9 Boys Green division.
The team was formed in 2018 by a group of parents who wanted to provide their children with the opportunity to play football in a fun and competitive environment. The team has grown steadily since then, and now has over 20 players.
The Foxes train on a Tuesday and Thursday evening at the Lichfield City Sports Ground. They play their home games at the same venue, as well as at other grounds in the area.
The Burton Junior Football League
The Burton Junior Football League is a league for junior football teams in the Burton-on-Trent area. It was founded in 1969, and currently has over 300 teams playing in its various divisions.
The BJFL is affiliated to the Staffordshire County FA, and its teams compete in the FA Vase and the FA Trophy. The league also has its own cup competitions, including the BJFL Cup and the BJFL Shield.
The Foxes have been competing in the BJFL since 2018. They have won the U9 Boys Green division once, in 2020.
The team is managed by Paul Jones, and assisted by Mark Smith. The Foxes are sponsored by Lichfield City F.C., and their kit is supplied by Gola.
