Oxley United Women's Football Club
Oxley United Women's Football Club is an Australian football (soccer) club based in Corinda, Queensland. The club was established in 1913 and is the oldest extant club in continuous existence in the Brisbane region.
History
- The club was originally known as Oxley Football Club and fielded a senior team in the lower divisions of the Brisbane competition in the years immediately after the First World War.
- In the 1920s, the club began to field junior teams and had regular success in the junior divisions.
- In 1937, the club joined the Brisbane competition as Oxley United and won the Second Division at their first attempt.
- After a season in Division One, Oxley United were relegated but returned to Division One in 1951.
- The club's golden age came in the late 1950s and early 1960s, when they won the Brisbane First Division in 1958 and competed in Australia's first national cup competition, the 1962 Australia Cup.
- The club has since played in various divisions of the Brisbane competition, currently competing in the FQPL5 Metro Women's competition.
Recent seasons
Oxley United Women's Football Club finished 7th in the FQPL5 Metro Women's competition in 2022.
