Barnsley & District Junior Football League
The Barnsley & District Junior Football League is an amateur football league for boys and girls under the age of 18. It is based in the Barnsley area of South Yorkshire, England.
The league was founded in 2015 and currently has over 100 teams competing in a variety of divisions. The teams are divided into age groups, from Under-7s to Under-18s.
Season Structure
The league season runs from September to May. Each team plays each other team in their division twice, once at home and once away. The top teams in each division qualify for the playoffs, with the winners being promoted to the next division.
The league also has a cup competition, the Barnsley & District Junior Cup. The cup is open to all teams in the league and is played in a knock-out format.
League Criteria
In order to join the Barnsley & District Junior Football League, teams must meet the following criteria:
- Each team must have a coach qualified to a minimum of FA C Licence (Level 2) or YAM 2.
- Every team must be affiliated with their respective County Football Association.
- Every club must be England Accredited or working towards it.
