Dorset Ability Counts League
The Dorset Ability Counts League is an amateur football league for adults and under-16s with disabilities. It was founded in 2017 by the Dorset Football Association (FA) in partnership with the Ability Counts Programme.
The league has four divisions:
- Division One: For players with the highest level of ability.
- Division Two: For players with a medium level of ability.
- Division Three: For players with a lower level of ability.
- Development League: For players who are new to the game or who have a disability that makes it difficult for them to play in the other divisions.
Teams in the league play each other once in a round-robin format, with the top teams at the end of the season qualifying for promotion and the bottom teams facing relegation.
The league is open to all players with disabilities, including physical disabilities, learning disabilities, and mental health conditions. There are no trials or registration fees, and players are welcome to join a team at any time during the season.
The Dorset Ability Counts League is a great way for people with disabilities to get involved in football and make friends. It is also a great way to stay active and healthy.
