East Lancashire Football Alliance
The East Lancashire Football Alliance (EAFL) is an amateur football league in the East Lancashire area of England. It was founded in 1904 and currently has over 100 member clubs. The EAFL is affiliated to the English Football Association (FA) and its teams compete in the FA Vase and FA Sunday Cup.
History
The EAFL was founded in 1904 by a group of football enthusiasts in the East Lancashire area. The first season of the league was played in 1904-05 with just eight teams. The league has grown steadily over the years and now has over 100 member clubs.
The EAFL has been home to some famous players over the years, including former England internationals Jimmy Armfield and Peter Beardsley. The league has also produced a number of professional footballers, including current Blackburn Rovers player Joe Rankin-Costello.
Current Season
The current season of the EAFL is the 2022-23 season. The league is divided into three divisions: Premier Division, Division One, and Division Two. The top two teams in the Premier Division at the end of the season are promoted to the North West Counties Football League. The bottom two teams in the Premier Division are relegated to Division One.
The current Premier Division champions are Nelson. The current Division One champions are Barnoldswick Town. The current Division Two champions are Rossendale United.
