Multichoice Diski Challenge

Introduction

The Multichoice Diski Challenge is an amateur football league for the Premier Soccer League (PSL) academy clubs in South Africa. It was launched in 2016 as a way to develop young players and give them the opportunity to showcase their talent.

The Diski Challenge is played in a round-robin format, with each team playing each other once. The top eight teams at the end of the regular season qualify for the playoffs, with the winner being crowned Diski Challenge champions.

How it works

The Diski Challenge is played under the same rules as the PSL, with each team fielding a squad of 18 players. The matches are played over 90 minutes, with two halves of 45 minutes each.

The Diski Challenge also has a number of other rules that are designed to promote development and fair play. For example, teams are not allowed to sign players who are older than 23 years old.

Prize money

The top eight teams at the end of the regular season qualify for the playoffs. The winner of the playoffs is awarded the Diski Challenge trophy and a prize money of R200,000.

The runners-up receive R100,000, while the third-placed team gets R50,000. The fourth-placed team gets R25,000, and the remaining five teams each get R10,000.
