MARY DENDY 3 SANDBACH TOWN 3

H.T 2-2

Another tough game for Dendy in a tough league. Thankfully DENDY have a strong squad of players at the moment.
At home for the first time in months Dendy had a good team out.The front line as good as any i have seen in the league. Perry was missing in the Dendy goal but stand in Jack wasn't at fault for any of the goals and was a solid stand in.

It was Dendy who scored first with a rare goal from man of the match Shaun. A sweet low drive from outside the box into the corner of the net after only 2 mins. The lead didn't last long after 9 mins a through ball left Dendy flat footed and they failed to clear the ball which was put away by the cool Sandbach player in a one on one with Jack.

Dendy's weakness on corners was again shown up with a free header on the 12th minute to give Sandbach the lead. Thankfully Dendy levelled the game with a great cross from Ash which was cooly taken down and finished by ever dependable Tommy Wake.

HT 2-2.

I was starting to think about another high scoring game as an experienced and solid Sandbach team worked hard to try and make things happen. But an exciting break from Ash was smashed home under extreme pressure from the Sandbach defender.

60 mins and Dendy were back in the lead and could have held on as grit and hard work kept Sandbach at bay. I wasn't worried and thought we perhaps would score again on the break. Sadly Sandach won a penalty on 80 mins. The Sandbach player skipped through three Dendy players before a stuck out defenders leg brought him down. Looking for it maybe but there were no complaints. The pen was converted and yet again scores were even. Dendy were under pressure for the last ten minutes with the strong cold wind not helping in clearing the lines. It would have been disappointing if Dendy had got nothing out of the game and we were grateful to hear the final whistle.

F.T 3-3

Good points

Strong squad. Lots of effort shown across the team with man of the match Shaun giving his all today even in his unfavored right back position. Forward line looks a danger to any team. Jack did a sterling job as stand in keeper. It was good to be at home again.

Bad points

Corners are still a concern. The squad was a better size today but i still felt a little sad for players who couldn't get any match time. The last four games we have had close games against decent sides and making changes not forced on us by injury is hard.

Donkey was Steve for falling out the car. Giving one for the game would have been harsh on anyone.

Man of the match was last gasp blocking and tackles from Shaun. Who surprised me to nearly being able to keep it going all game.
I think he knew today he was in a game and given his all.

Food at the EGERTON ARMS was noodles and stir fried beef, peppers and onions. If they had not been enough i would have been happy not to try it but it was plentiful so i had some and was glad i did as it was quite nice. A little hot but tasty.
