Away cup match played on 26 November 2017.
Kicked off at 11:00 AM

It was another cold sunday morning and yet another cup game challenge for Thrum Hall FC against Halifax AFC! A confident THFC started well with some good creative passing through the midfield looking to make an instant impact and get the early goal which in turn saw both tom (big hensh) henshaw and jonni (vommit) sudall put through on goal only to squander their one on one chances with the keeper with shots fired wide of the goal! Amateurs began to find their feet in the game and started to string passes together and test the hall back 3 then due to poor positioning from karl (cannon) cartlidge saw a through ball reach the feet of their wide man who had the pace to run free and slot it home! 1-0 HAFC! Hall didn't let their heads drop and continued to press and pass the ball well till a loose ball was pounced on by the alert jamie (snakey) casey who opened up his body for the shot but was read and well saved by the keeper! The game was quite even till this point with both creating chances, but then a tactical error from ash (ginger viking) smethurst when he tried to play out short from a dead ball to an opposite facing cannon which led to him being disposessed and rick (clanger) stanger unable to keep out the resulting shot! 2-0 HAFC! Hall still fought hard to get something out of the half with a well hit shot from distance by tom (robbo) robinson bouncing off the post and back out, it didn't look like it was to be thrum hall's day! One last attack with a cross into the box from amateurs saw a most certain goal prevented due to a superb block tackle by cannon from 5 yards out to keep it at 2-0!

HALF TIME! Henshaw off, keir (posh boy) watkinson on!

Hall came out fighting ready to try get the result, and with fresh legs up front and midfield still pressing hard the chances were coming which forced their keeper to make a mistake and collect a back pass, free kick to hall, the ball was squared off to robbo who fired it in top of the net past what looked like the entire amateurs team on the line! 2-1! A change from ben (pep) coates through risk of injury meant lee (angry man) gallagher coming off to be replace by marcus (assman) williams for his thrum hall debut! The snakes didn't let up and a great move with jay (offside) clissit and robbo combining well on the right side saw robbo then switch play across pitch to find casey in space who ran it on and slotted the ball in the net with no mistake this time! 2-2 GAME ON! A similar move followed which again found casey in a good position, this time however saw his shot/across goal pass put into the net by an amateurs defender, own goal! 3-2 THFC! Hall then still on a high had the chance to put the game to bed and cap off a great comeback when the ball fell to fresh back from injury keir who from 5 yards out managed to smash his shot over the goal and onwards to the moon! This proved to be costly as then amateurs took full advantage of the mis-shapen thrum hall and began sending long balls through and over the top for their speedy forward down halls right side who proved too much for brad (scarface) holt to deal with forcing stanger to leave his line but couldn't prevent the goal! 3-3! It was all downhill from there for hall as they endured more pressure, this then saw an unfortunate deflected shot off an ash smeth block loop over stanger! 4-3 HAFC! Amateurs fitness and quality in passing was soon to be the end for hall as they increasingly managed to find space in midfield, and with 2 goals in quick succession sealed the win, no way back for hall! HAFC 6 THFC 3 Another cup down for the snakes and a bitter loss but with plenty of positives to take away from the game hall will look forward to getting back to winning ways next week with focus on progression in the league! UP THE SNAKES!
