The team was formed in 1998 and has won the Devon Schools League on four occasions. They have also reached the final of the FA Youth Cup on two occasions, in 2004 and 2011.

The Football League Youth Alliance - Devon Clubs league is a regional league for under-18s teams in Devon. It is a feeder league for the Professional Development League, which is the top level of youth football in England.
The league was formed in 2008 and is currently sponsored by the Devon FA. There are 12 teams in the league, including Plymouth Argyle u18s.
The league season runs from September to April. The top two teams at the end of the season are promoted to the Professional Development League.
