Strongthope United is a football (soccer) team based in Accra, Ghana. They play in the UEFI league, which is the top tier of Ghanaian football.
The team was founded in 1967 by a group of friends who were passionate about football. They have since gone on to win the UEFI league on four occasions, in 1972, 1982, 1992, and 2002.
The team's home ground is the Accra Sports Stadium, which has a capacity of 40,000. Their current manager is Kwame Ayew, who is a former Ghana international.
UEFI League
The UEFI league is the top tier of Ghanaian football. It was founded in 1960 and is currently contested by 16 teams.
The league is played on a round-robin basis, with each team playing each other twice. The top four teams at the end of the season qualify for the CAF Champions League, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the second tier.
The current champions of the UEFI league are Asante Kotoko, who won the title in 2022.
