AFC Marlow opened their account for April with a 11-1 win over H-Town at The Rye on Sunday 6th April.

AFC Marlow made a couple of changes by bringing from last weeks 9-2 win over the opponents. Grant Oxlade, Richard Vere & Lee Putnam alongside Manager James Mckechnie who was named as a sub but was carry an ankle ligament injury picked up last weekend. Matt Dutton, Jamie Piekielniak, Tom Verity and Matt Weavers all missed this weekend's game.

After only 5 minutes James Turner put AFC Marlow in front when keeper Callun Akerman's drop kick beat the H-Town back four for J.T to race clear, the lead was then doubled literally 2 minutes late when James Turner found Jake Saunders on the edge of the box for the centre midfielder to convert his 3rd goal this season. Then came our first call for goal line technology, Dean Oxlade's cross was tapped home by James Turner who instantly insisted that the ball hadn't crossed the line (Dean then granted J.T the goal after the game) 3-0 AFC Marlow after only 25 minute. 2 minutes later, Jonny Watts then made it four when a deflected shot landed to the midfielder who lobbed the goalkeeper with a half volley from the edge of the box. Again 2 minutes after the restart Jonny Watts turned creator as he found James Turner to score his 3rd of the game, 5-0 AFC Marlow and within 90 seconds of H-Town kicking off again 5 turned to 6 when Robbie Morton won the ball in the centre of the park and found James Turner who beat the offside trap and converted his fourth. AFC Marlow chasing the goal difference then grabbed a seventh when a smart 1-2 with J.T see the left back 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper which the player placed his finish neatly into the near post. AFC Marlow went in at half time 7-0 up. Then came something that as far as I'm aware isn't in the rules of the game, the referee then approached AFC Marlow manager James Mckechnie and requested we stopped scoring as frequently as we were.

AFC Marlow made 1 change at half time which see Robbie Morton replaced by Lee Putnam and we started the second half with the same tempo. The eighth goal came only two minutes after the restart when some neat footwork and pass from Jonny Watts found Adam Brooks who's shot was to hard for the H-Town keeper to keep out. Paul Patterson then turned his ankle and was replaced by Grant Oxlade and James Mckechnie replaced Jake Saunders, the scoring then came to a holt for about 20 minutes before a H-Town defender's long clearance caught out both the AFC Marlow defender's and gifted H-Town a consolation goal, 8-1. Jonny Watts then grabbed his second of the game when another shoot deflected to the midfielder who smashed home at the first chance of asking, 9-1. James Mckechnie then found Lee Putnam with a long ball from a free kick and the midfielder watched his shot unluckly come off the bar and fall for James Turner to score his fifth of the game and the teams tenth. With minutes to go the scoring was complete when James Turner rolled the ball along the goal line for Lee Putnam to score his first goal since returning from retirement. The game finished 11-1.

This result see AFC Marlow return to the top of the table with four games to go.
