Away league match played on 03 March 2013.
Kicked off at 11:30 AM

A small match report today due to the fact we played pants and then got robbed by a cheating referee. For those who don’t know Hade Edge is just inside the Arctic Circle, where even in August snow can be found, and sheep roam free. The pitch was playable but the harsh all round weather had taken its toll.

With the championship entering the final straight this was going to be a tough game, whether it was the occasion or the pitch our boys never settled.

The first half was about the most non descriptive game of football I have ever seen from our boys; there was plenty of huffing and puffing but we lacked the cutting edge, only one effort from Cain Wilkinson that crashed off the far post was the closest we or Hade Edge came to scoring. The one thing that did stand out was the one sided refereeing who seemed to miss his team shirt pulling, fouling and general bad tackling.

HT 0-0

With a rollicking still ringing in their ears the boys were sent out for the second half but as in the first half a lot of effort but no quality, what I did notice was the home team began to grow in confidence and believed they could get something out of the game. Just when it looked like the game would end nil nil, the young lions finally found the back of the net Cain Wilkinson this time slotting home. With 12 minutes left it looked like the young lions had somehow managed to get 3 points and one hand on the league championship without playing well. Then up stepped the referee or better known as Hade Edge’s coach. With our right back challenging for the ball their front man fell 5 metres short of the penalty box then proceeded to roll the 5 metres, the referee/coach blew for a free kick for then only to change his mind and award a penalty after advice from said child’s dad.

FT 1-1

EDITIORS THOUGHTS

First things first you were robbed boys by a dishonest referee but you didn’t do enough to win the game either, on reflection you were lucky to get a point, too many players had an off day but the Championship is still in your hands.

DO YOU WANT TO WIN IT? – COME ON BOYS LET’S DO IT!!!!!!!!
