Home league match played on 06 October 2012.
Kicked off at 9:30 AM

1 minutes extra time played.

Today saw us play host to S.O.P.F.C. at Londonderry Park, the last time we met spoils were share in a 1 : 1 Draw.

We started brightly and created a great opportunity 2 minutes in when Plunketts managed to scramble the ball off their goal line and two minutes later we should have scored but Noah’s shot went straight to the keeper. Plunketts would be first to break the deadlock on the 6th minute with a well taken goal but their lead was short lived as we came straight back at them 2 minutes later when Captain Brandon McFerran collected the ball at right back pushed forward and unleashed a wonder shot from 30 yards out which to a massive swear in to the top right hand corner to make it 1 : 1. Both teams were pushing forward at every opportunity but we were looking a bit ropy at the back with Joel just back from a hamstring injury he looks a bit off the pace. On the 11th minute we would grab the lead when Matthew Guest was taken down in the box and the Referee awarded us a Penalty, up stepped Reece Atkinson looking to keep a 100% record from the spot and he did by hitting it to the keeper’s right leaving him with no chance of saving it 2 : 1 Ards. Plunketts got the equaliser in the 20th minute when we went to sleep on a ball over the top and Plunketts scored 2 : 2. Then 3 minutes later they took the lead when again we weren’t alert at the back.

HALF TIME: 2 . 3

Half time substitution saw the return of Rhys Mackie from a bad ankle injury and he replaced Noah Crenshaw but Noah would find himself back on the pitch 5 minutes later replacing Matthew Guest, the joys of roll on subs and 5 minutes later Noah would score a superb goal when Jordan Mulholland sent over a cross to Noah 20 yards out and Noah hit it on the volley into the top right hand corner to make it all square at 3 : 3.  A draw would have probably been a fair result as both team had their fair share of chances but 8 minutes from time poor defending on our behalf when we should have cleared our lines let Plunketts in to score the winner.

FULL TIME: 3 . 4

MANAGERS COMMENTS:

We need to defend lot better boys, I know you all can get it right as we are playing some lovely football but we are not defending well enough as a team yet but it will come keep working hard at training and we will sort out these problems.
