Staines & Laleham Juniors 3 vs 2 Ashford Town Colts U10

Colts U10 kicked off away to Staines Town in a repeat of our last game of the season where we lost 6-3.

Staines only had 6 players and as none of our boys wanted a full game for the opposition we played six a side for fairness.

We started well and took the lead after 5 minutes through Junior from a good through ball from Oscar.

Staines equalised after ten minutes following a good move as they got into the game more.

The home side took the lead around 18 minutes as Lewis allowed a powerful long range strike through his hands but we wasted two good chances to draw level by the break.

We looked to get back in the game after half time but again couldn’t find a finish as Tom hit the post following a good turn and shot.

Then as our first team are finding out if you don’t take your chances you get made to pay for it as Staines doubled their lead with a cheeky back heel after a scramble in the box.

The boys were undeterred however and a superb free kick from Oscar have us hope with eight minutes left but today it wasn’t to be as they held on to win 3-2.

POTM this week ?? was Scarlet at the back who played excellent. Goals from Junior ?? and Oscar ??.

Have to say Staines are a decent side with good players so was pleased with how we played considering this was only the second game we’ve played together.
