Westside Youth U10 2 vs 4 Ashford Town Colts U10

U10 Colts got their first win of the season under their belt beating Westside Youth away 4-2.

Today’s instructions were to pass and talk to each other and not be greedy if someone was in a better position and the kids took it on board, flying out the blocks taking the lead through Oscar after a good through ball from Tom.

We came close twice to a second before Simba in a good position unselfishly passed to Piotr to score his first goal for the club and give us a 2-0 lead.

I made a few subs (we had 3 today) as it was hot and it probably knocked us out of our stride as we stopped our fluent passing and the home side pulled one back after some poor defending.

I freshened things up and Oscar and Tom got us off to a flyer again with a combined double

one two which saw Oscar pick out Tom in the box who calmly side footed home.

We went close 2 or 3 more times to extending our lead before Westside produced a good ten minute spell pulling a goal back to 3-2 and forcing Lewis and Liming into a couple of saves.

We then caught them on the break and a long ball up the field from Junior found Oscar who did what Oscar does and beat two including the keeper to seal the win.

We nearly scored again right at the death but deserved the win today.

MOM was Oscar ?? closely followed by Scarlet and Piotr.
