Ashland FC hosted Pochon at their home ground on 22 September 2026, with kick-off at 12:30pm in a crucial league fixture. The match ended in disappointment for Ashland as Pochon secured a 3-0 victory after a dominant second-half display.
Ashland lined up in a 4-3-1-2 formation, aiming to balance defensive solidity with attacking flair. Moses Odhiambo took his place in goal, protected by a back four consisting of Titus Kioko at right back, Antony Kioko and Kelvin Muniu as central defenders, and Manu on the left. The midfield trio featured Mike Kisilu on the right, Charles Junior centrally, and Kevin Leven on the left, with Enoh E playing just ahead as the attacking midfielder. Up front, Keith K operated on the right side of the attack, partnered by Erustus Ngetich on the left. The substitutes available were Morgan Meitoi and Erick Karani.
The first half saw a cautious approach from both sides, with Ashland attempting to control possession through their midfield but struggling to create clear-cut chances. The defensive line remained compact, and the match was largely even until the break, with no goals scored by either team.
Shortly after the interval, Ashland were forced into an early change when Kevin Leven limped off injured in the 49th minute, replaced by Morgan Meitoi. This substitution disrupted Ashland’s rhythm as Pochon began to assert more pressure. The home side’s right back, Titus Kioko, was withdrawn in the 65th minute, making way for Erick Karani as Pochon’s attacks started to find more space.
The breakthrough came in the 62nd minute when Pochon’s player struck a superb direct free-kick from outside the box with his left foot, beating Odhiambo and giving the visitors the lead. This goal visibly unsettled Ashland, who struggled to regain composure.
Just nine minutes later, Pochon doubled their advantage with another exquisite free-kick, again from outside the box and struck with the left foot. The precision and power left the Ashland goalkeeper with no chance, and the visitors were firmly in control.
As the match progressed, Ashland’s defensive resilience was tested repeatedly. In the 84th minute, Pochon capitalised on a frantic goalmouth scramble to add a third, sealing a comprehensive victory. Ashland’s defenders were unable to clear the danger, and the visitors pounced to finish clinically.
Despite Ashland’s efforts to respond, the damage was done, and the home side were left to rue missed opportunities and defensive lapses. Pochon’s clinical finishing and set-piece prowess proved decisive in this encounter.
The defeat leaves Ashland with much to reflect on as they look to bounce back in their upcoming fixtures. Pochon, meanwhile, will take confidence from a well-earned three points on the road.
