Home league match played on 24 October 2010.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Avonmouth welcomed Bristol Spartak looking to build on the previous weeks good win and their traditional good start was rewarded with the first goal scored after 6 minutes. A good ball from the right by Aaron Davies found Mitch Harris whose perfect lay off gave Montel Riches the chance to slip the ball past the advancing keeper. The home team continued to attack & goal number 2 came on 18 minutes. A Harris cross from the right was not cleared & an excellent pass by Josh Beecham again found Riches who produced a good finish putting the ball into the bottom right hand corner of the net. Avonmouth were now playing with confidence, producing nice football & after some good team passing, Charlie Parker found the in rushing Mitch Day whose shot was well saved by the keeper. From the resulting corner a rehearsed routine finally paid dividends when a cross by Harris, was headed in at the near post by Sam Reynolds.

Half time: Avonmouth 3 Bristol Spartak 0

Avonmouth started the second half again on top & within a few minutes nearly made it 4 when an angled Harris shot was well saved by the keeper. However the next goal did come after 43 minutes. From a corner the ball was cleared but fell to Lukas Tsiopani who from outside the box unleashed a tremendous shot that flew into the top of the net giving the goalkeeper no chance. Within a few minutes it was 5-0 when a ball into the penalty box found Harris who smashed an unstoppable shot into the net. Avonmouth were now rampant looking for more goals and the next was not long in coming. A nice ball on the right from Tsiopani found Harris who ran straight at the Spartak defence. He shrugged of the defenders but instead of shooting passed the ball to Riches who shot pass the keeper to claim his hat trick. On the hour mark it became 7-0. From a ball out of defence Reynolds found Harris out on the left who then cut in & saw his shot take a slight deflection pass the keeper. In the last ten minutes there were more chances for Avonmouth including 1 that hit the bar although Spartak also managed to hit the bar in the closing stages.

Today Avonmouth played exceptionally well producing some good flowing football. Everyone contributed to the performance while team spirit & confidence seems to be   back in abundance. Bristol Spartak are a decent team in the top half of the table who unfortunately played Avonmouth in top form, good luck to them for the rest of the season. Meanwhile we still remain unbeaten in the league & top of the table.
