The Tunbridge Wells Foresters under 10’s Tandridge Spartak team played at home this weekend against Darwin The game ended in a 5-4 victory for the home side.
Foresters started well and took the lead in the first minute when a Johnny Phillips cross was bundled over the line by Erik Anderberg. Almost immediately Foresters scored again through Jonny Phillips to go into a 2-0 lead, the boys played some good football but could not create any of their opportunities into goals and Darwin grabbed a goal back, so at half-time the scoreline was 2-1.
In the second half the Under 10’s started slowly and conceded an equaliser but they continued in the same vane as the first with Johnny Phillips scoring again following a goalmouth scramble to put Foresters back in front. However within the space of five minutes Foresters found themselves 4-3 behind and struggling to get to grips with Darwin’s counter attacks. The boys however got back into the game when Fraser Abbott set up Robert Lawrence to score the equaliser. The nerves of the home supporters were settled when Luke Credland scored the final goal of the game following another through ball from Fraser Abbott.
The boys one again put in a good performance and played some excellent football during the course of the game and could have won by a greater margin but for the Darwin goalkeeper and the woodwork.
