The Tunbridge Wells Foresters under 8’s Tandridge team played their final league game of the season away at Spitfire Colts on Sunday. The game ended in a 10-1 win for Foresters.

Foresters opened the scoring in the second minute of the game through Johnny Phillips who converted a Robert Lawrence corner. Foresters enjoyed the majority of the early possession and missed several good opportunities to extend their lead, however following a good passage of play Erik Anderberg scored following a good through ball from Ollie Plunkett. The third goal came in the ninth minute when Johnny Phillips scored a fine individual goal. And Johnny Phillips also scored the fourth goal in the twelfth minute from another Robert Lawrence corner. The fifth goal of the half was scored by a Spitfires defender following another Foresters corner. Spitfires scored a well worked goal just before the break to reduce the arrears so at half-time the scoreline was 5-1 to Foresters.

In the second half the Under 8’s continued to pass the ball around and they opened the scoring in the second minute of the half with Johnny Phillips scoring and Robert Lawrence supplying the pass. From yet another corner! Three minutes later Johnny Phillips scored again this time from a Joseph Pickett through ball.

Midway through the half Ollie Plunkett scored the eighth goal for Foresters following a good cross from Erik Anderberg. Foresters continued to create chances but they could not bet the goalkeeper who made several good saves. However Foresters scored again in the fourteenth minute with Robert Lawrence scoring following a Ollie Plunkett cross. The final goal of the game was scored by Johnny Phillips giving him six for the day.

Well done to the Luca Caria and also to both Matthew Horlock and Josh Williams on his return from injury for giving a solid display at the back.

Well done to the boys for playing some fantastic football through the duration of match and also throughout the season where we have seen all their hard work and effort that the boys have put in during training start to show on the pitch

Finally a big thanks to all the parents and family of the boys for all your support and for getting the boys to the matches in what I hope you will agree has been an enjoyable  and rewarding season.
