The Tunbridge Wells Foresters under 8’s Tandridge team played at home on Sunday. The game ended in a 3-3 draw.

Foresters enjoyed the majority of the early possession and missed several good opportunities to take the lead, however the home team fell behind in the 10th minute against the run of play. Five minutes later following a good passage of play Fraser Abbott scored following a good through ball from Ollie Plunkett. Foresters then took the lead two minutes later when Johhny Phillips squared for Joseph Pickett to score from 25 yards. The final goal of the half was scored by Whyteleafe in the final minute of the first half so at half-time the scoreline was 2-2.


In the second half the Under 8’s continued to pass the ball around but they couldn’t find the breakthrough and Whyteleafe came back into the game and took the lead with six minutes remaining. Directly from the restart Foresters got the ball wide and following some good work By Erik Anderberg Ollie Plunkett scored the equaliser.

Foresters continued to create chances but they could not bet the goalkeeper who made several good saves at the end, that could have produced a winner.


Well done to the Luca Caria who made some crucial saves when Foresters where under the cosh in the second half and also to Robert Lawrence and Matthew Horlock for their efforts in trying to keep the Whyteleafe forwards at bay.


The boys played some fantastic football in the first half and had enough stamina to get a result in a evenly contested game against a strong Whyteleafe side.
