Belvidere started the game confidently coming off the momentum of their victory at home against HLC, the away team looked dangerous with their right sided winger causing problems with his pace and there central midfielder dictating play, but with some minor alterations of joseph marsh to left mid the boys found there feet settling into the game Plimmer and Nankivell looked to find the feet of Meredith who held the ball up well for wear to deliver some dangerous crosses from the right one missing everyone and hitting the inside of the post but bouncing off to be cleared. Herbert caused serious trouble for the defence dodging his way through the players effortlessly but not releasing his shot and the chance was gone Meredith was his usual game holding the ball up and creating as well as getting some troublesome shots away, but the away team looked certain to score when a long ball over the top caught Jack Richards and Robbie Barnett sleeping and it looked like the home teams striker was going to score, but after a poor touch the ball rolled calmly into Putsorns hands. Rocke was solid at right back causing distress for the left winger and stikers. Plimmer found himself in space on the edge of the box and released a venomous shot which left the keeper scrambling in mid-air but only hitting the crossbar.
Half Time 0-0!!
The whistle blew for half time and Mr Edwards stressed he wanted to see the boys press more and in numbers Herbert came off with an injury and Halford replaced him. Mr Edwards command was understood and Plimmer and Nankivell pressed the central midfielders allowing them no time to play, with Marsh working hard on the left and wear and Meredith up top and Halford causing concern for Idsall with his pace it was only a matter of time before the deadlock was broken, when Plimmer made a run from midfield dribbling passed 2 players then avoiding the onrushing centre backs he pulled it onto his favoured left foot and unleashed a shot then flew into the back of the net, Idsall looked panicked with Nankivell dictating the play in the middle and with the help of Plimmer allowing the opposition no time on the ball a neat passage of play from Nankivell making a run and delivering the ball to marsh on the left who bought it down pulled it back and struck it, it then bounced off the keeper and fell to wear who finished confidently with his right. The back for were resilient dealing the home teams tall and quick striker Richards and Barnett were solid and spender and Mahler looked unbeatable. An incident occurred when Idsall’s striker swung back and his fist connected with the nose of Plimmer although trying to play on with blood on his top and over his face he had to make way for Upton. Even more controversy when the ball was played to a man in an offside position of which the referee called offside but the players continued Belvidere caught out due to the referee and the ball was slotted in past a confused Putsorn. Plimmer resumed the pitch dazed and losing the ball in dangerous positions, but the attacking force of Meredith, Marsh, Wear, Halford, looked certain to score with fullbacks Mahler and Spender getting forward. The game was refereed with no linesmen confusing both sets of players.
