On a brass monkeys evening in Battersea BLG were determined to make amends for the undeserved 3-2 defeat dished out by this lot back in November

The first 15 minutes was a Barlows masterclass. Grant and Dion were linking up impressively down the right and Ady and Greeny playing some lovely through balls. The chances were coming thick and fast. With moves straight off the training pitch, Dion, Jo Jo and even TC found themselves in scoring positions but we just couldn't hit the target. A goal was inevitable though and in the end it was the ever-reliable Mr Hooks who ran on to a through ball and blasted past the hapless keeper.

Somehow, after continued dominance, we failed to add to our advantage. A free kick from Si Lenagan crashed off the underside of the bar, Hooksy's lob cleared the keeper but also the crossbar and SH just couldn't get the ball out of their half. Typical then that with what seemed like SH's first attack of the game the ball bobbled around our penalty box and somehow ended up in the back of our net. When it should have been 5-0 it was actually 1-1.

Within minutes of the restart we were 2-1 up as Jo Jo's hard work and bust nose ended up with SH putting the ball in their own net. Bushy then pulled off an incredible save down low to his left to divert the ball round the post. BLG kept up the pressure and another chance fell to Hooksy before half time - a cool finish meant we went in 3-1 up.

BLG's second half did not begin as impressively as the first and SH managed to claw another goal back. Again, we had the vast majority of the chances and were unlucky not to get a fourth with only the SH keeper managing to keep us at bay. A mistake at the back cost us another cheap goal and suddenly we had to score again to win. With a penalty awarded in the last 5 minutes it looked like we may have the chance to get what we deserved but their keeper pulled off another impressive save and the game ended up 3-3.

No game next week but then two must-wins against Pegasus and Macfarlanes on the 19th and 29th.

Team: Bushy, Getty (Hogan), TC, Si Lenagan, Grant, Seale (Monty), Greeny, Ady Lenagan, Dion, Jo Jo, Hooksy
