Home friendly match played on 17 July 2014.
Kicked off at 7:00 PM

To paraphrase the sorely missed PubWatch© it was a balmy day down in Battersea.  The tube was horrid, the Kings Road scenery was indeed fit for a King & down at Battersea Park BoC & F&P, went head to head.  With a welcome return for a Dutch orange clad Dan in goal we kicked off.  A sluggish start was made, people distracted by both the heat & Stu’s Mum who was in the hockey goal getting an all over tan.

Controversy soon came to the fore when a rubbish clearance from Zamora was sent back in & was it ‘hand to ball’ or ‘ball to hand’?  Whatever it was, the decision was made & the penalty was tucked away.  A few decent chances for both teams but half time came & it was clear something needed to change.

Salvation came from an unlikely source, the man in the cabin ran over & reminded us you are not allowed football studs on the pitch, confusion reigned as to who, until he walked over to the hockey goal & pointed downwards.  She tried to pass them off as mouldeds but he was having none of it & she was escorted out.

What a transformation!  Minds back on the game, Gareth tuned nicely to score & then a Lotthar Mattheus effort from Wayne quickly put us in the lead.  Wayne & Zondervan tackling hard & Intertoto his usual mix of good fitness, good passing & very average shooting.  Dan coming off his line Neuer like, meant that only the penalty was conceded in a strong defensive performance.

Neal sent a cracking free kick just over before Ilyas tucked one away & Chris thundered in another.  A curling effort from Zamora finished off things & 80 minutes later & very tired & now unbeaten in 8 games in team trooped down the pub to listen to Hoofer rant against the Royals & the Scots.
