Bally's Match Report:

1st half – playing into the wind. Almost all the play was in the Boots half. However, after 5 minutes, Colt’s back pass held up short and their keeper held back, which allowed Bally to get to the ball first just outside the area and fired first time into the top right corner.  A beautiful finish (if i say so myself) to go into double figures for the season. After the goal, Boots defended well and absorbed a lot of pressure until they got their first goal on about 25 minutes.

Boots suffered the usual heads-drop after conceding and finished the half 5-1 down. To be fair it was in very difficult conditions with Boots barely getting into their half at all, let alone any chances on goal. Their 3rd goal was a low drive from just left of the peno spot, with Neil being completely unsighted.

In the 2nd half the rain arrived and boots had much more of the ball with the advantage of the wind. However Colts coped better with the wind and had a fair bit of their own possession.

Boots had a succession of corners coming close – Neil direct from a corner missing by inches, and a Bally header cleared off the line just inside the post. Ian and Si both had shots from distance that came close. The Boots breakthrough came shortly – a corner from the right from Neil which Bally stabbed towards goal. Kieran collected the loose ball and fed Tank for him to somehow to get the ball underneath the keeper. 5-2.

Colts restored their 4 goal advantage, scoring from a tight angle low from on the left. Boots had more chances to get back into the game, notably Neil missing an open goal following a poor throw out by their keeper from the corner of his area! He will claim the wind took it...

Neil made up for it by playing a good pass from centre of the pitch through to Bally in space on the right – definitely onside (err...). Ian looked on from the centre hoping for a pass to give him his first goal of the season which would allow him to clean his boots for the first time. But Bally listened to Ian’s earlier instruction to be more greedy and shot into the bottom left corner across the keeper from just outside the left corner of the area. Colts had time for one more, their player rounding our keeper down the left of the area and scored from the tight angle. 7-3.
