Away league match played on 15 December 2013.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

The Clems enjoyed yet another victory in the Premier Division this time at the expense of an under-par Writtle team that was struggling to get eleven players before the match had kicked off.

There was a return to the starting eleven for the ever-green Rich Joughin who this time took his place in between the sticks, there was concern from the Boreham outfield players who decided it be best not to play the ball back to Joughin unless absolutely necessary! The Clems started slowly but took the lead through John Rush who has been an assassin in front of goal so far this season. The assist coming from Aaron 'Dickey' Gothard.

Then the match took a nasty turn, a Writtle player, who now after medical checks has been diagnosed with rabies and psychopathic tendencies, took exception to a good decision from the referee and proceeded to politely inform him that he was a 'c**t, cheating f*****g c**t' whilst frothing at the mouth. He grabbed the ref by the face which drew blood above the referees lip. There is no place for this behaviour in football at any level and the player should be ashamed of himself.

The incident appeared to unsettle both sides and despite the Clems pushing hard to increase their advantage they were unable to due to trying to force the final ball too often and some poor finishing. The sending off helped Writtle raise their game and drew themselves level through a good finish. Despite Writtle now playing with only one up front the Clems defence appeared to be struggling with the long ball over the top, luckily for them Joughin was proving the doubters wrong and showed safe hands on several occasions and his distribution was good.

After the break the Clems took the lead through another Rush goal when he was played in nicely by 'Dickey' and though it appeared Rush had taken the ball too wide of the goal to finish he managed to hold off the defender and stick the ball in the far top corner with consummate ease. With the Clems pushing on and putting pressure on the Writtle back line they won themselves a free-kick 20 yards out from the Writtle goal. After much dispute, a clean shaven, tequila intoxicated Jay Dale stepped up and hit the ball well which went through the Writtle wall and goalkeeper and nestled in the back of the net. After an early season tantrum Jay has accepted the fact that he is a goal scoring left back and will enjoy a very good season playing in this position chipping in with his fair share of goals and bringing some much needed pace to the Clems defence.

John Rush then helped himself to his third goal of the game, a header from a corner swung in by 'Dickey' who's delivery from set-pieces has caused every defence in the league problems so far this season.

The Clems were now cruising and the manager made 3 changes that see Mark Coleman, Jordan McGrath and Louie Howe introduced. Shortly, after the changes Writtle got their second goal. A cross from their right into the 'corridor of uncertainty' had Tom Wright caught in two minds whether to swing his right boot at the ball and hope for the best or let it run across the six yard box, he decided to let it run and unfortunately their was a Writtle player darting in at the back post who finished from a yard out.

With Tom Wright looking to make up for his mistake the Clems won a corner and it fell to Tom in the box who this time decided to swing his right boot at the ball but unfortunately for him he got it horribly wrong, missed the ball and his leg ended up in one of the gardens behind the Mayland goal. The Clems did not have to wait long before scoring again, this time through substitute Jordan McGrath who latched onto a Mark Coleman through ball and tucked the ball nicely into the corner of the net. The Clems got their sixth through another substitute, Louie Howe, who was slotted in by John Rush and calmly finished to wrap the game up nicely for the Clems.

With no fixture scheduled for the Clems this Sunday they can enjoy the christmas break and come back in the new year raring to go and ready to smash all opposition that dare think they have a chance of upsetting what the Clems want to be an undefeated season in the Premier Division.

Have a great Christmas everyone and enjoy the New Year celebrations!! COME ON YOU CLEMS!!
