Home league match played on 19 December 2015.
Kicked off at 2:00 PM

The 19th December, the last game of 2015, on a surprisingly warm Saturday afternoon Buckden first team were keen to finish the year on a high vs 2nd bottom Milton.

The game got underway and Buckden were sluggish, maybe immediate complacency but even with this the chances slowly started coming. The first corner of the match came in superbly by lovey to be met by Westbury and cleared off the line at the back stick followed up by Dennis forcing the keeper into a good save.

There was a moment a panic in which Milton had the ball in the back of the net, fortunately their striker was offside.

The chances continued with the Smith brothers causing havoc in the early stages and G Man shooting at people's backs at every opportunity, one of these led to another corner! What followed was unbelievable, it was something you'd see in the waters in the Scottish highlands, the corner came in and it can only be described as a slightly overweight salmon leaping above all the opposition and heading into the top corner, Westburys 2nd for the 1sts this year. Buckden had broke the deadlock and surely now the chances would start going in from now on???

Not the case, numerous chances created but numerous chances not taken.
From Dom Smith thinking he's something from Fifa 16 with his shit finesse's, their Lino on the wind up and cheating like a mother fucker and a 78 year old decent keeper kept the scores at 1-0.
As chances came and went, Josh Smith getting increasingly frustrated, to the point he was on his knees with his hands on his head, (Dennis said he spotted a tear but that's yet to be confirmed), we finally got a second goal. Short corner from Lovey to Noodles, skinned there defence to fire a low ball across the box, a mishit from dom deflected off their defender and it was 2-0 at half time.
Jack and Geordie advised where we were going wrong, the ref had obviously wound Jack up as he was very irritable, not helped when the disrespectful striker G Man smashed a bottle on the floor. After Geordie re repeated everything Jack said we were back out for the second half.

More chances and more wrong decisions from their Lino were frustrating Buckden but the third goal finally came, g man played dom in who squared for Sam Underwood to knock the ball in.

The fourth is questionable as an OG or not, for the management to decide but for this report I'll give the Buckden player the benefit of the doubt. Some fancy play down the left, where most of Buckdens attacks came from, led to the ball being fired across and Jonny Love knocking it in at the front post. That was the last contribution on the ball by J Love, he was out to cause trouble after that. After Dom purposely leathered the ball in Loveys face, the lad saw red, starting on their number 10 to calling out some 50 year old spectator with a bobble hat on.

The fifth came through a combination of the strikers, G man and Dom, G played a lovely curling 30 yard lobbed ball to which Dom
Smith finally got himself a goal, lobbing the keeper with a great finish.

The sixth came from Sam Underwood but I really can't remember it. It was his second of the match and Buckdens 6th, unfortunately Milton did manage to get one back. Nothing Mat Bone could do but after the defence had been reshuffled, as Chris 'made from glass' Dennis had to be subbed, a few errors were made and Milton's number 8 nipped through with a good finish to the bottom right corner.

Not a bad result, certainly could have been better but we shall take ourselves into 2016 with confidence and a good position in the table.
