Home cup match played on 03 October 2015.
Kicked off at 3:00 PM

After beating Ivo 4-0, 3 weeks prior to this game, Buckden came into it with enough heart and were determined to win again!

The first 30 minutes of the game however was not the best Buckden have played, we saw new man Jan pull off more than a few quality saves and also saw Chris Dennis and Darren Scutt make 2 very important goal line clearances to keep the score line level. After the 30 minutes of mediocre football ended, the real Buckden what we all know and love came out, passes were being strung together left right and centre!

Once the goal tap was opened, it was difficult for St Ives to turn it off, another St Ives attempt which was saved from a corner by Jan was quickly worked forward where Jon Love chased the ball down pursued by the defender, under decent contact the forward went down (inside the box?) and the referee who was struggling to keep up pointed to the spot. Graeme Marks dispatched the spot kick and Buckden were (probably undeservedly) one-nil up.

This seemed to perk St Ives up even more, and after more verbal from their camp directed at the referee they continued to push for a goal, however this allowed Buckden more space in which to play football and when a corner was won Jon Love floated the ball to the back post for Adam Westbury to get his first (proper) goal for the club, minutes later with the St Ives centre half dwelling on the ball Graeme Marks nipped in to pinch the ball and curl his second and Buckden’s third into the far post.

Buckden went in to halftime with a 3 goal lead without getting out of 3rd gear, the manager let the team know that the second half would be harder and that St Ives would only ramp up their game plan of trying to kick and bully like a 6 year old in the playground.

This proved to be true as St Ives won another free kick on the halfway line and began loading the Buckden box, however once taken the rotund centre midfielder (already on a yellow for being a melt) could not resist a kick out off the ball and was duly dismissed.

Buckden utilised the space now on offer Josh Smith scored the first, a few minutes later substitute Sam Underwood bagged himself his first of the game, but not 3 minutes later, a sensational goal was scored by left back Adam Kidman, he received the ball 25 yards out and decided to strike it even though he had options to pass. It was definitely the right the choice, the ball flew straight into the top left hand corner, with a little help from the post but there is nothing bad you can say about that finish! Other than the fact he miss hit it a treat!

The next goal in this thrilling 10-0 victory came from Timmy Smith, which I have been told was the goal of the game.. Not that I can believe it but I say what I'm told! Sam Underwood then bagged his second of the game, securing his 2 goals in 30 minutes of play time! Not bad for the new boy!

The last 2 goals of the game came from Dom Smith, even though he could of had 6 as usual, 1st goal he rounded the defender and calmly slotted it round the keeper. The second came from a super cross floated in by Fendog, straight onto the head of Dom, who put it past the keeper. That's the first and last time anyone will see him use his head and make something good out of it. Great all round performance by the squad.
