Carbrain Clarets 2011's hosted Finnart 2011s at Ravenswood Playing Fields on 26 September 2026, with kick-off at 9:15am in a league home match. The Clarets emerged victorious in a pulsating encounter, clinching a 4-3 win after 80 minutes plus added time in an 11-a-side contest.

Carbrain Clarets 2011's lined up in a 4-1-4-1 formation, deploying Archie Edgar in goal. The defensive line consisted of Daniel Abdulrahman at right back, Declan Ryan and Zack Graham as central defenders, and Lleyton Campbell on the left. Tyler Scott operated as the holding central midfielder, shielding the back four. Ahead of him, the midfield quartet featured Leandro Schammas on the right wing, Aidan McVey and Noah Webb centrally as attacking midfielders, and Kai Logan on the left. Leading the line was striker Ciar McCloskey, tasked with finishing chances created by the attacking midfielders. The substitutes available were Zack Brown, Ryan McGuigan, Liam MaGuire, Connor McMahon, and Matthew Malone.

The match burst into life immediately as Kai Logan stunned the home crowd by scoring directly from a corner kick in the opening minute, a rare and spectacular way to break the deadlock. Just three minutes later, the Clarets doubled their advantage when striker Ciar McCloskey found the net, expertly assisted by Noah Webb, signalling a blistering start.

Carbrain Clarets continued to press, with McCloskey forcing a notable attempt on goal in the ninth minute. Archie Edgar was soon called into action himself, making a crucial save in the 11th minute to keep the Clarets’ lead intact. The Clarets’ dominance was further rewarded in the 22nd minute when an own goal by a Finnart defender extended their lead to 3-0, leaving the visitors shell-shocked.

Tactical changes began in the 27th minute as Zack Brown replaced Leandro Schammas, followed shortly by Ryan McGuigan coming on for Tyler Scott two minutes later, both substitutions made to adjust the midfield dynamics. However, Finnart responded with a goal of their own in the 35th minute, pulling one back and injecting renewed hope into their challenge.

Carbrain Clarets quickly restored their three-goal cushion when substitute Zack Brown scored in the 36th minute, assisted by Kai Logan, who continued to be a constant threat down the left flank. The first half concluded at the 40-minute mark with the Clarets leading 4-1.

The second half saw a more physical edge, with Ciar McCloskey receiving a yellow card immediately after the restart in the 46th minute. Another substitution followed in the 49th minute as Liam MaGuire replaced left back Lleyton Campbell, signalling a defensive reshuffle. Tactical adjustments continued with Tyler Scott returning to the pitch in place of McCloskey in the 56th minute, aiming to reinforce midfield control.

Archie Edgar was again pivotal between the sticks, making two vital saves in quick succession at the 59th and 61st minutes to deny Finnart further goals. The Clarets made a double substitution at the 65th minute, bringing on Connor McMahon and Matthew Malone for Zack Brown and Ryan McGuigan respectively, refreshing the squad as the match intensified.

Despite the Clarets’ efforts, Finnart clawed back two more goals late on, scoring in the 74th and 83rd minutes to narrow the deficit to 4-3 and set up a nervy finale. However, Carbrain Clarets held firm to secure a hard-fought victory in a thrilling encounter that showcased attacking flair and tactical flexibility.
