On 13 September 2025, Carbrain Clarets 2011's welcomed Grahamston 2011 white to Oak Road 3G for an 11-a-side cup home match kicking off at 12:30pm. The Clarets produced a stunning attacking display to run out 14-2 winners in an 80-minute contest, emphatically stamping their authority on the tie.
Carbrain Clarets lined up in a 3-5-2 formation, deploying Archie Edgar in goal behind a back three of Ryan Cherry at right defender, Daniel Abdulrahman centrally, and Zack Graham on the left. The midfield five featured Connor McMahon on the right wing, Tyler Scott, Luka McVittie and Noah Webb centrally, with Matthew Malone on the left flank. Up front, the Clarets paired Fergus Davies on the left forward position with ciar mcklusky on the right forward. This setup promised a blend of defensive solidity through the three at the back, midfield control with a packed centre, and width provided by the wing midfielders, while the two forwards were expected to spearhead the attack. The substitutes named were Kobe Stevenson, Ruadh Greene, Ryan Griffin, Kai Logan, and liam mcguire.
The Clarets wasted no time asserting themselves as Fergus Davies opened the scoring inside three minutes with a close-range finish from inside the box. Just six minutes later, Davies was again involved, this time forcing an own goal from a Grahamston defender following his pressure and delivery. The visitors pulled one back in the 11th minute, but Carbrain quickly restored their dominance. Ryan Cherry, operating from right defender, struck a goal in the 15th minute to extend the lead.
Fergus Davies continued his fine form, netting again in the 19th minute from a well-worked team move, assisted by Tyler Scott’s precise cross. Cherry was on the scoresheet once more at 21 minutes, unleashing a spectacular right-footed screamer from outside the box after a short pass from Noah Webb. Davies completed his hat-trick shortly after, converting a chance created by Connor McMahon in the 23rd minute.
The Clarets then made a flurry of substitutions around the 28th minute mark, with Kobe Stevenson replacing ciar mcklusky, Ruadh Greene coming on for Noah Webb, Ryan Griffin taking over from Ryan Cherry, and Kai Logan substituting Tyler Scott. Shortly after, liam mcguire replaced Zack Graham at left defender.
The fresh legs made an immediate impact as Ruadh Greene scored in the 34th minute, assisted by Kobe Stevenson. The first half concluded with the Clarets firmly in control at 7-2, despite a late goal from Grahamston in the 42nd minute.
After the break, Carbrain Clarets continued their relentless attacking approach. Greene doubled his tally in the 50th minute, again set up by Stevenson. The Clarets’ substitutes continued to shine as ciar mcklusky, who had been replaced earlier but evidently returned to the pitch, scored in the 61st minute with an assist from liam mcguire. Greene struck once more in the 67th minute, this time assisted by Kai Logan.
The scoring spree showed no signs of abating as liam mcguire found the net in the 69th minute, assisted by Noah Webb, followed by two goals from Kai Logan in quick succession at 70 and 75 minutes. Greene completed his tally with a goal in the 80th minute, rounding off a remarkable team performance.
Carbrain Clarets 2011's displayed clinical finishing, fluid passing, and tactical flexibility throughout the match. Their 3-5-2 formation allowed them to dominate midfield battles and create numerous scoring opportunities, while the defensive trio and goalkeeper Archie Edgar kept the opposition at bay despite Grahamston’s occasional breakthroughs. The substitutes’ contributions were pivotal in maintaining the momentum and extending the lead in the second half.
This comprehensive 14-2 victory at Oak Road 3G not only secured progression in the cup but also sent a clear message about Carbrain Clarets 2011's attacking prowess and squad depth. Grahamston 2011 white were overwhelmed by the Clarets’ relentless pressure and clinical finishing, making this one of the most memorable performances of the season so far.
