CF Vilanova welcomed Hamazi FC to Olympic Primary School on 12 March 2026 for a league home match kicking off at 11:00pm. The hosts delivered a commanding performance to claim a 3-0 win in front of 500 spectators, maintaining their strong league form with a clean sheet and a clinical attacking display.

CF Vilanova set up in a 3-2-4-1 formation, deploying three defenders at the back with Pinto P on the right, Ryan Otieno centrally, and Calleb Otieno on the left. This defensive trio was tasked with providing solidity and covering wide areas when needed. In front of them, the midfield pivot consisted of Reuben Ochieng and Raul O, who were expected to control the tempo, break up opposition play, and link defence to attack.

The attacking line featured four midfielders supporting the lone striker. On the right flank, Joshua Blessing was positioned as the right attacking midfielder, while Joshua Kioko occupied the left attacking midfield role. Central attacking midfield duties were shared between Emanuel Nakia and Steve Otieno, with the latter often drifting into advanced positions to create and finish chances. Leading the line was Paul Otieno, the focal point of the attack, expected to hold up play and convert opportunities.

Victor Otieno guarded the goal, providing a reliable last line of defence. No substitutes were named for this fixture.

The match unfolded with CF Vilanova asserting dominance from the outset, controlling possession and pressing Hamazi FC high up the pitch. The defensive trio remained disciplined, effectively nullifying any threats from the visitors. The midfield duo of Ochieng and Raul ensured the team maintained balance, recycling possession and supporting both defence and attack.

In attack, the quartet of Blessing, Nakia, Steve Otieno, and Kioko combined fluidly, creating numerous chances. Steve Otieno, in particular, stood out with his intelligent movement and incisive passing, earning him the player of the match accolade.

Despite the attacking pressure, the first half concluded goalless at the 45-minute mark, with both sides having to regroup during the interval.

The second half saw CF Vilanova increase their intensity and clinical edge. Their efforts were rewarded as they broke the deadlock and went on to score two more goals, sealing a comprehensive 3-0 victory. The home side’s attacking midfielders and striker linked up seamlessly to dismantle Hamazi FC’s defence, while the back three and goalkeeper Victor Otieno maintained their composure to keep a clean sheet.

The referee managed the game well, with an overall performance rated at 80, allowing the match to flow and ensuring fair play throughout the 90 minutes plus added time.

CF Vilanova’s victory at Olympic Primary School was a testament to their tactical organisation, attacking prowess, and defensive resilience, providing a significant boost to their league campaign.
