Chestercity vs Laksmana Wira.

It's their second ever meeting in the league with Wira getting a rather impressive 7-4 win against Lionheart and City 4-1 victorious against Los Guerreros.

In their past league encounter, City put 4 past Wira and the opponents knew about City's goalscoring record.

City on the other had almost a full squad turning up for the game.

Tampines Safra was the venue for the match and deploying a late change in formation to 4-4-2, City still have the best players in each department.

Amin was in goal. Mizan found himself in a new role of right back, Aziz on the left while Parry partners Jelson who was making his 50th appearance for City.

In midfield, we saw Anon reinstated on the right wing, Zahrul Bahri playing alongside Indra in centre midfield with Ridwan taking up the left wing position.

Upfront, Airul was named captain in the absence of Ryan and Fred.

Wira knew they need to contain City's advances. Within minutes they were on the back foot. A cross was misjudged by Wira's defenders and with Ridwan lurking at the back post, he only manages to sky his shot from inside the box.

It was Wira who took the lead. Wira played to the whistle when every player stood claims for an offside call but simply Wira scored from close range.

1-0. City pushes forward. They tried every possible way of scoring but their finishing was below par.

It came to live, when Ridwan was impeded in tussling for the ball. With City dispense of good quality set piece takers, It was Gabir who strikes and scores with a little touch of the underside of the crossbar. 1-1.

Soon, City took the lead. Winning a corner, Mizan send a wicked outs winger which found the head of Airul who puts City in front.

Zahrul Bahri had a chance to put City further ahead but mis-timed the bounce off Indra's wonderful hit pass.

Halftime results, City leading by a goal.

Interval substitutions saw Aleef and Eddy bring thrown to the fray in replace of Jelson and Aziz.

Second half with change of boots and change of rhythm. Airul got his second goal of the match courtesy of an impressive outstanding play by Zahrul.

3-1.

Airul started to show the kind of form he first signed for City.

Getting the ball deep in the opponents' half, Airul beats a couple of players before laying it for Gabir who netted his 2nd of the match.

It was well over when Airul yet again shows his mercurial display of playmaking when he returns Zahrul the favour with City's number 4 finishing off in style. An incredible 5-1 scoreline with plenty of time to play.

With that City introduced 15 year old Muhd Irfan in the place of departing head coach Ridwan.

It's not over yet. Gabir scored his hattrick with Anon getting on the assist charts after the silky winger showed some good touches.

Eddy who was running up and down the flanks as full back finally deserved his goal for all the hard work. Starting the move down the left, Eddy plays a good one-two with Airul which released Eddy who rammed a shot into the net giving the goalkeeper absolutely no chance.

7-1. Wira began to tire and they concede yet another goal in the 74th minute with Gabir completing the rout with Airul assisting yet again. Final score from Tampines Safra.

City 8 Laksmana Wira 1.

"I'm elated with the team. What more can I say? The players showed it on the pitch. Once the first goal went in, we never look back. We kept on pushing and scored 8 wonderful crafted goals. Airul was outstanding. He showed class and was the playmaker today. Not only did he scored, he laid some assist for his teammates which why I decide to re-sign him. I'm pleased with Gabir who kept scoring as he always does to take his tally to 14 for the season. With Bon Voyage the next opponent, I can't see why we can't take all 3 points. We are 4 points behind leaders Untitled. We are getting back on track and we have to keep winning to stand a chance at the title."
