On Sunday 27 September 2026, Cleeve Colts Warriors travelled to ACTIVE LIFESTYLES STROUD 7v7 to face Rodborough Youth U11 Lionesses in a friendly 7-a-side match kicking off at 11:00am. The Warriors emerged emphatically victorious with a 7-1 scoreline after 60 minutes of action, showcasing clinical finishing and solid team organisation.

Cleeve Colts Warriors lined up in a 2-3-1 formation, deploying two central defenders, three midfielders across the left, centre and right, and a lone striker up front. Nancy-Rose North guarded the goal, while Elsie Magovern and Ava Morris formed the central defensive partnership tasked with protecting the backline. In midfield, Clara Bernal operated on the left flank, Miah-Leigh Campbell held the central midfield role, and Sienna Lowndes took up the right midfield position, expected to support both defence and attack. Leading the line was striker Elsie Maskell-Burge, whose role was to spearhead the attack and convert chances. Lyla Penney was named as the substitute.

The match began with Cleeve Colts Warriors asserting early dominance. At 10 minutes, the breakthrough came when Sienna Lowndes provided a precise assist to Elsie Maskell-Burge, who calmly finished to open the scoring. The Warriors continued to press, and seven minutes later, Clara Bernal’s delivery found Maskell-Burge again, who doubled the lead with a composed finish.

Rodborough Youth U11 Lionesses responded with a goal of their own in the 23rd minute, briefly halting the Colts’ momentum. However, the first half closed with Cleeve Colts Warriors firmly in control, maintaining their 2-1 advantage at the 30-minute half-time whistle.

The second half saw an immediate resurgence from the Warriors. Just three minutes after the break, Miah-Leigh Campbell set up Maskell-Burge for her third goal of the match, demonstrating excellent vision and link-up play. The striker was relentless, scoring again a minute later from another assist by Sienna Lowndes, who was proving a constant threat down the right.

At 36 minutes, Maskell-Burge turned provider, setting up Sienna Lowndes to extend the lead further. The partnership between the two was pivotal, as Lowndes then assisted Maskell-Burge once more in the 39th minute, making it five goals for the striker and six in total for the team.

A tactical substitution was made at 52 minutes, with Lyla Penney replacing Clara Bernal on the left midfield, injecting fresh legs into the midfield battle. The scoring spree continued when, at 54 minutes, Sienna Lowndes once again provided the final pass for Maskell-Burge to complete her remarkable haul of six goals.

Throughout the match, Nancy-Rose North’s goalkeeping was steady, while the defensive duo of Magovern and Morris kept the opposition largely at bay. The midfield trio worked tirelessly to control possession and supply the forward line, with Lowndes and Campbell particularly influential in creating chances.

Elsie Maskell-Burge’s clinical finishing and tireless movement earned her the well-deserved Player of the Match accolade, as she was directly involved in all seven goals scored by Cleeve Colts Warriors. The team’s cohesive performance and attacking fluency ensured a comprehensive and convincing victory on the road.
