Colchester Villa u18 2 vs 2 Layer Colts U18s

Another heard fought draw against a good layer colts team who won the u16 league last season. With the team kitted out with their new Kit (Looking very smart)

After a first half where villa looked like we had never played together before including a good penalty save from JT took the game to 0-0 at half time.

A more positive performance in the second half with the team camped in the layer half most of the time with the exception of two attacks that resulted in Layer scoring two goals !!!!!

But with the preseason fitness kicking in two goals in the last 10 minutes gave Villa a well earned draw and if it was not for the Layer keeper pulling off 3 world class saves at the end we would have walked away with all three points.

With the first league game scheduled for the 8th September with holidays and a bank holiday week inbetween this looks like the last preseason game until the season gets underway. (There will still be training !)
