On Sunday 19 April 2026, Corinthian Casuals U12 welcomed Balham U12 to Corinthian for a 9-a-side league fixture and produced one of their strongest performances of the season, winning 7-1 after 60 minutes plus added time.
The Casuals started in a 3-4-1 formation, with Albie in goal behind Fraser, Freddy and Alfie. Leo, Archer, Harvey and Cooper made up midfield, with Carter leading the attack. Lourenço began on the bench.
The home side made a fast start and went ahead in the 8th minute when Freddy powered in a header from Carter’s corner. Two minutes later, Freddy struck again, this time scoring directly from another corner to make it 2-0.
Balham responded with a long-range goal in the 15th minute, but the Casuals quickly regained control. A minute later, Lourenço came on for Cooper, moving into central defence and allowing Fraser to push wider. The change worked well, and in the 22nd minute Lourenço scored to restore the two-goal lead.
The fourth goal came in the 26th minute when Fraser headed home from another excellent Carter set piece. Fraser was then forced off injured, with Cooper returning in the 27th minute, but the Casuals stayed on top and went into half-time leading 4-1.
The second half followed a similar pattern. Cooper scored three minutes after the restart from Archer’s pass, Freddy completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot in the 50th minute, and Carter added the seventh in the 55th minute after another set-piece situation involving Archer.
It was an excellent all-round display from the Casuals, who looked sharp in attack and dangerous from dead-ball situations throughout. Leo was named Player of the Match for his tireless work on the right and his strong contribution at both ends of the pitch.
The win keeps Corinthian Casuals Youth U12 Purple fourth in the table with 35 points from 16 matches. In an 18-game league, they still have two matches left and remain in touch with the teams above them, just one point behind third-placed Leatherhead.
