Away friendly match played on 01 February 2015.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Sunday seen a change of fixture for the Cubs as all league games cancelled due to the second most important semi final in the league cup, which lead to playing bitter rivals Ivory Toast in a friendly up at the Disc.

Tensions were high for the game as rivalries have been brewing since the last game between the two sides where the Cubs won to proceed to the cup quarter final, which proceeded with bitter Toast players bitch like little girls on social media. The game was always going to be exciting and everyone was looking forward to Swinty vs Marty round 2 ( WHO THE FUCK IS MARTY? )

Toast started the first half against a changed starting 11 from last week with McKendrick coming back into RB, C.Brownlee replacing the absent Lawrie at LB, and Brebner and Jamieson-Caley the chosen partnership to lead from the front.

The first half was a 50:50 battle throughout with both teams looking to break the deadlock. Bookies lost their money very early when McKelvie from Toast was booked early on for dissent, with the Ref also threatening to change the colour of the card if it continued.

It was to be Toast who would break the deadlock which sparked rage within the Cubs defence as C.Ross was blocked off as he tried to close the ball down from a player who was clearly offside. Ref claims he didnt see it as their goalscorer rounded Eggo and slotted home. The only major action of the first half.

Cubs come out for the second half and started the better team as the Toast keeper acted quickly to come off his line to stop some through balls and pulled off a great save from a Stephen shot from outside the box. The goal was coming and came early on in the second half from a throw in, when Hagger collected and put in a fantastic cross/shot (who knows) which was nodded home from the Toast defender as Braidwood made his presence felt.

It was then Toast who went on again to score twice to make it 3-1 which looked to maybe have sealed the game.

Obviously not wanting to give up and face the loss to the Toast as they'd most likely forever talk of it, the Cubs continued to play well and look for their second. And it was Brebner who smashed it home after neat work from Davidson to slide it across to Brebner, who took a great first touch and put the ball in the roof of the goal with around 5-10 minutes to go.

However the cubs were not finished, with a couple minutes remaining C.Brownlee delivered a lovely cross from a free kick which was nodded on from C.Ross which landed perfectly for top goalscorer-Caley to loop the keeper with a fantastic header.

The game finished 3-3 and the last 10 minutes or so showed how far this new look Cubs team have come, great performance from all, Reno still not lost a game in a cubs top, but MOTM goes to Callum Brownlee for a solid performance at the back, great contribution to the attack and a great delivery for the 3rd goal
