Away cup match played on 11 May 2014.

The Ladies ran out 4-1 winners in the Cumbria Women's League cup final against league leaders Workington Reds in an entertaining game at the Sheepmount. The game started evenly with both teams working hard to restrict any chances. The breakthrough came on 38 minutes, with Becky Scott latching on to an attempted clearance to score with a thunderbolt 25 yard volley for Workington Reds. Newlaithes equalised just before half time with the league top scorer Alison McCorry finishing from the edge of the box from a Carly Stevenson cross.

Both teams started brightly in the second half with chances at both ends but Newlaithes rallied and took the lead on 63 minutes when Becky Rush chested the ball down to Chez Brierley who turned to whip a looping 30 yard screamer over the Reds keeper and into the top corner. Five minutes later and Paige Williams set Lily Gaulton free to race clear of the Reds defence and slot the ball past the keeper for her first goal in Newlaithes' colours. Workington Reds pushed players forward to find a way back into the game and had a number of half chances to pull one back but Newlaithes stayed strong and on 85 minutes, any hopes of a late comeback were dashed when Alison McCorry sent Vic Metcalfe free down the right wing. She whipped in a cross for Lily Gaulton to volley in at the near post for her 2nd and Newlaithes 4th. Final score, 4-1.

This was a brilliant team performance to secure the team's 2nd cup win in three years but player of the match was Roni Duguid for an inspirational performance at right back both on and off the ball.
