Bidford Hurricanes 0 vs 5 Dragons Firsts

Dragons continued their pre season against Division 3 outfit Bidford Hurricanes. Dragons had played Bidford twice last year drawing one and winning one.

The first half was a tight affair with limited chances for both teams with the best chances for Dragons falling to Aiden Shelton from a corner and Brett Danby who shot miles over from the edge of the box while under no pressure at all. A good block save from close range from Brian Stokes meant that both teams went into half time 0-0.

A higher press second half meant it wasn’t too long before Dragons opened the scoring. A long ball from Brian Stokes bounced through on goal in which Marty Meddings bravely headed in despite pressure from the goalkeeper. A second and third shortly followed with the second coming from Adam Hinchcliffe winning the ball back on the half way line and shooting from the edge of the box only for the the shot to go through the keeper. The third came from a direct free kick taken by Adam Hinchcliffe which went through the keepers legs for Marty Meddings to tap in on the line. Dragons continued to dominate the game and a great team play got Josh Barnett through on goal only for his shot to be parried straight to Marty Meddings to complete his Hattrick from close range. Into the final 10 minutes of the game a looping shot from Darren Wilsdon from the edge of the box hit the bar, only for minutes later Marty Meddings to get his 4th goal with a Good half volley shot from the edge of the box into the bottom corner. No more chances were created in the final minutes of the game meaning Dragons came out 5-0 winners and to get their first win of pre season. A great team performance by all.
