gyellesu united 1 vs 0 Emirate Fc Zaria

Emirate Fc Zaria hosted Gyellesu United at their home ground on 24 September 2026, with kick-off at 4:25pm. The 11-a-side encounter ended in a 1-0 victory for Gyellesu United after a tightly contested 90 minutes plus injury time. The match was officiated by referee Oho, who oversaw a game marked by disciplined defending and limited clear-cut chances.

Emirate Fc Zaria lined up in a 4-3-3 formation, deploying four defenders across the backline, three midfielders centrally, and a front three tasked with providing width and penetration. The defensive quartet was expected to maintain solidity and contain Gyellesu United’s attacking threats, while the midfield trio aimed to control possession and link play effectively. Up front, the three forwards were charged with stretching the opposition’s defence and creating scoring opportunities. Unfortunately, no details of the starting players or substitutes were provided for this fixture.

The first half unfolded with both sides probing cautiously, seeking to establish rhythm and control. Despite efforts from Emirate Fc Zaria to assert themselves, the half concluded goalless at the 45-minute mark, reflecting a balanced contest with neither team able to break the deadlock. The players retreated to the dressing rooms knowing the second half would be decisive.

In the second half, Gyellesu United managed to find the breakthrough that had eluded both teams earlier. Their solitary goal proved enough to secure all three points, as Emirate Fc Zaria struggled to respond effectively. The visitors’ defensive organisation and tactical discipline frustrated Emirate Fc Zaria’s attempts to equalise, leaving the home side to rue missed chances.

Throughout the match, Emirate Fc Zaria’s standout performer was Abdul Barrow, whose efforts in midfield were recognised as the player of the match. Barrow’s work rate and influence in the centre of the park were key to his side’s competitiveness, even if the final result did not go their way.

Despite the defeat, Emirate Fc Zaria showed glimpses of promise within their 4-3-3 setup, but ultimately Gyellesu United’s resilience and clinical edge made the difference on the day. The narrow loss will serve as a learning experience as Emirate Fc Zaria look to bounce back in their upcoming fixtures.
