The Hawks got lucky today ,recovering from a poor start to beat Windsor youth 4-3. Playing a fresshly cut pitch the Hawks were expected to start fast and keep their 100% home record intact. However a lack of midfield shape and a lack of marking at the back would prove costly as the game went on. The Hawks had a couple of half chances early on as both Michael and Taylor were tackled when through on goal. A long ball over the top was collected by the Windsor striker who finished with ease for 0-1. Fortunately Windsor struggled to stay onside as the Hawks were badly caught for pace at the back , a trait that continued all game .The Hawks finally woke up withJake, Michael and Taylor all having shots blocked by a resilliant Windsor defence. The Hawks fell 2 behind as yet another long ball caught out the defense , Harry rushed out from goal but was unable to get there before the striker.

The changes were wrung regularly as the Hawks management tried to get a foothold in the game and the Hawks finally clicked . Bobby and Taylor both fresh from the bench combined to Get the Hawks back in the game. Taylor scooping the ball over the keeper after being played through by Bobby. Jacob then danced his way in from the right and put over a lovely cross to the back post but no Hawk could get on the end of it. Jake B then cut the ball back from the right but once again the Hawks could not capitalise . A real struggle of a ahlf as the Hawks missed tackle after tackle and failed to get the ball down and exploit their pace out wide,

The game was soon to be turned on its head as the Hawks were brought back from the brink almost single-handedly by virtuoso from Jake Bone. He brought the Hawks level as he turned in Riley's long free kick, despite looking suspiciously off side. The Hawks finally took the lead for the first time in the game as Jake got the thinnest of flicks with his head to Riley's quickly taken free kick. The Hawks then switched off again and it was only down to poor finishing from Windsor that kept the Hawks in front. It was almost inevitable that Windsor would equalise but it was yet another really poor goal to concede. The Hawks carried on arguing about a disputed corner and forgot to mark any players allowing Windsor a free header to equalise.

Fortunately for the Hawks, for the second week running, a glorious goal would win the game late on. Jake picked up the ball on the right and with the footwork of a ballerina ghosted past 4 windsor defenders , he then broke into the box and side footed the ball past the diving keepers hand . 4-3 to the Hawks who were quickly indebted to Harry R in goal who made a brilliant save with his leg to ensure the victory. A very shaky performance from the Hawks who were continually caught out at the back and relied on Harry R sweeping well in goal and a number of last ditch tackles from Jasan and Chris. A regular partner for Riley anchoring the midfield is still up for grabs as the team shape disintergrated at times . The Hawks struggles in midfield meant the Hawks pace up front and wide was rarely used , today the had to rely on the strikers to bail them out . A win is a win and a good sign for the team who fiound a way to win despite not playing well.
