Future Stars Academy (FSA) travelled to Chilinde Primary School Ground on 23 April 2026 for a 4:20pm kick-off against Black Rangers in a 60-minute friendly encounter, extended by a minute of added time. The match ended 2-1 in favour of FSA, with Vincent Aaron starring as the decisive figure.

FSA lined up in a 3-2-4-1 formation, deploying three defenders at the back with Mathews Renald on the right, Kelvin Champion centrally, and Trust Champitila on the left. The midfield featured two central midfielders, Japhet Banda and Bright Bandawe, tasked with controlling the middle of the park. Ahead of them, four attacking midfielders operated: Blessings George on the right flank, Shadreck Kawala and Bashir Mussa centrally, and Falefa Phiri on the left. Leading the line was striker Vincent Aaron, expected to spearhead attacks and convert chances. The substitutes bench included Nuni James and Zain Kadango.

From the outset, FSA showed intent with early attempts on goal. Vincent Aaron tested the keeper with a high effort in the third minute, followed by Bashir Mussa’s shot saved at five minutes. Aaron was again off target with a wide effort at nine minutes, while Blessings George rattled the post two minutes later, signalling FSA’s attacking threat.

Shadreck Kawala also forced a save at 17 minutes, as FSA pressed for an opener. Despite their dominance, the first half closed goalless at the 30-minute mark.

However, just three minutes into the second half, Black Rangers capitalised on a defensive error from FSA, slotting home a close-range finish with their right foot to take the lead. The goal was a blow to FSA’s rhythm but spurred them into action.

Vincent Aaron restored parity at 39 minutes with a well-taken strike from outside the box, expertly set up by a short pass from Blessings George. This goal was the product of a slick team move, showcasing FSA’s attacking cohesion.

Shortly after, at 40 minutes, FSA made a tactical substitution, bringing on Nuni James for Falefa Phiri to inject fresh legs and maintain attacking impetus.

FSA’s momentum continued as Vincent Aaron struck again at 48 minutes, this time volleying home a long pass from Kelvin Champion. The goal, struck with his right foot from outside the box, demonstrated Aaron’s technical ability and composure under pressure.

As the match progressed, FSA sought to protect their lead, but at 58 minutes, Aaron was forced off due to injury, replaced by Zain Kadango. Despite this setback, FSA held firm to secure the victory.

Referee Josh Jr officiated the match with authority and fairness, contributing to a well-managed game.

Vincent Aaron’s brace was pivotal in FSA’s triumph, earning him the player of the match accolade for his clinical finishing and overall influence on the game.
